Wow! We have finished the second full week of school already, I just can't believe it!
We've been very busy in 4H so far. The first couple of weeks have been filled with getting to know you activities, learning fourth grade routines, and completing beginning of year assessments to inform my lesson planning and to help tailor instruction to student needs. We have also had lots of time to read and play games. Our favorite game at the moment is Hawaii Fishing Elephant, ask your son or daughter to show you the moves.
We have received lots of compliments from other teachers and staff in the building about what hard workers we are. We are showing that we CARE about the quality of our work and about creating the best learning environment for ourselves and our classmates.
I am thrilled to have met so many parents already and I look forward to meeting more at Back To School Night. I anticipate that we will all find many ways to work together throughout the year. On Monday, we will begin switching classrooms with the other two fourth grades for Social Studies and Research and Enrichment. Our class is looking forward to working with Ms. Trivino and Mrs. Bergantz. Three teachers are definitely better than one!
I have assembled an email list for the class. If you notice anyone missing from my list please let me know. I want to be able to reach as many parents as possible and to reduce the amount of paper that travels between home and school. I hope that the Friday Folders will help keep backpacks clutter free as well as streamline notices and work coming home for all of you. My goal is try to update parents once or twice a week about the happenings in up class, so stay tuned for more learning and fun!
